A Teenager is someone between the age of 13 and 19. They are called teenager because their age ends with teen. It is a stage of adolescence which is a transitional stage of physical and psychological development that generally occurs during the period from puberty to adulthood. Adolescence is usually associated with the teenage years, but its physical, psychological, or cultural expressions may begin earlier and end later.

However, Social Media Social media is an internet-based form of communication. Social media platforms allow users to have conversations, share information, and create web content. Social media are interactive digital channels that facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, interests, and other forms of expression through virtual communities and networks. Examples include Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn e.t.c

The use of social media has caused a lot of social damage to teenagers such as,

    • Depression and Anxiety.
    • Cyberbullying.
    • FOMO (Fear of Missing Out).
    • Unrealistic Expectations.
    • Negative Body Image.
    • Unhealthy Sleep Patterns.
    • General Addiction.

Despite this lot of negative effect of Social media, it also has a lot of positive impact on teenagers such as,

    Making  Them Think More.

    • It Enhances Creativity.
    • It Can Teach Them About Money.
    • Help them develop new social skills.
    • Makes them feel less isolated.

Thus, even though social media has impacted teenagers negatively, its positive impact can not be brushed aside as it also has helped shape them into becoming better people in society.
