    A Credit Specialist’s job is to analyze the client’s financial histories and decide whether they are eligible to get loans or lines of credit. They are also responsible to recover the unpaid dues.

    Credit specialist Job Description

    The job description of a credit specialist tells us about the duties of the candidate in this job profile. They are the employee of the company who is responsible for credit and collection along with protecting the assets of the company. They work to monitor and maintain the credit quality of the company’s loan facility. In short, we can say that a client specialist’s work is to gather all important information about the client and review the necessary documents and their financial status to approve the loan.

    Roles and responsibilities

    • This is the duty of a credit specialist to receive the credit and loan application and complete all paperwork.
    • Review the entire received document and complete all the process which is needed.
    • Investigate the client’s financial status to know better about the financial loss and profit records.
    • Able to analyze any type of risk and predict it for the company.
    • Responsible to inform the clients about the outcomes of their credit applications.
    • Assist to the seniors with financial analysis, credit underwriting, and the process of approving a loan.
    • Maintain all the things according to the loan policies and aware of the clients about all the terms and conditions.
    • Negotiate all the payment plans and interest rates to cover up the risk identified earlier.
    • Responsible to work and maintain the financial status of the company.
    • Responsible to train and guide the new staff members and aware them of the policies of the company.

    Credit specialist Key skills required

    • Good communication and interpersonal skills both verbally and written.
    • Good Knowledge of rules, regulations, and legal policies.
    • Ability to research, statistical, and decision-making skills.
    • Ability to negotiate credit limits and another repayment process.
    • Proficiency of work in computer applications and other related software.

    Education, training, and Certifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Microeconomics, Finance or Actuarial science and another relevant field with recognized university.
    • Experience of working as a credit specialist.
