A financial Planner can also be known by several other names like a financial advisor, financial service advisor, personal financial advisor, and Financial Advisor and investment adviser. Their main work is to advise potential clients on estate planning, college savings account, taxes, several investment plans, retirement, mortgages, insurance, and other finance-related tasks. Apart from this, they are also responsible for informing the clients about any type of risk while planning any financial strategy. Candidate should be active in knowing about all the latest information related to finance.

Roles and responsibilities

• Meet the clients to know their financial status related to their income, expense, savings, insurance coverage, tax status, risk tolerance, and much other vital information that is needed to do any financial planning.
• Analyze the received financial data of clients to make any plan or strategy according to their criteria.
• Responsible for solving all the queries and answering the client’s questions about the financial plans and strategies.
• Meet the clients to give them financial advice which can profit the client and financial institution both.
• Keep updated and manage the client’s portfolio.
• Regular meetings with existing clients to inform them about any changes made in their financial status.
• Build up and maintain the client’s base.
• Prepare the client’s financial document summaries and other income projections to manage the records.
• Meet and discuss financial planning with another professional to get any new ideas.
• Manage cordial relations with other personnel as well as clients.

Financial Planner key skills required

• In-depth knowledge of securities, insurance industries, and mutual funds.
• Proficiency in working on different computer software.
• Able to give expert financial advice.

Education, training, and Certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, business, accountancy, or another relevant field.
• Experience of work in the same field or other relevant job profiles.
• A life and health license is needed.
• Current FINRA Series 7 and 63 Securities Registration 66 or 65 will be given preference.
• Valid Driving license.
