    A Certified Public Accountant or popularly known as CPA of an organization helps in maintaining the financial records, preparing the tax, auditing, and other planning related to financial statements.

    CPA Job Description

    A CPA works in the accounts department of the company. S/He is responsible to analyze, prepare and review the financial statement of any organization. In short, it can be said that the CPA plays a vital role in performing the financial tasks along with following the legal procedure which is needed to prepare the final balance sheet.

    Roles and responsibilities

    • Certified Public Accountant is required in the company to organize, finalize and update the financial balance sheet of the company.
    • The candidate is required to analyze the transaction accurately and prepare its reports at the given timeline.
    • CPA work is to do the regular audits of the financial documents, expenditures, profits, and investments to find out if there is an error. If the mistake found then CPA should be active for the corrections.
    • Candidate should be responsible to participate in the budgeting process.
    • Punctuation is very important because the work is to be completed within time.
    • Keep updated with the changes made in the legal policies, laws, rules and other legal papers related to the accounts.
    • Responsible to maintain bookkeeping activities regularly.
    • Mutual understanding with a Tax accountant to know all the tax payments and returns.
    • CPA is responsible to finish the work within time and meet all the given deadlines.
    • Responsibility to report the information related to finance to the management of the company.
    • CPA is also responsible to guide the juniors about accounting works.

    CPA key skills required

    • Good communication skills both verbal and written
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Good knowledge of local and state laws.
    • Ability to work with the team and should be an expert in managing the team as a leader.

     Education, training, and Certifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in the Accounting or Finance field.
    • Minimum experience of 5 years as a public accountant
    • CPA certificate is necessary.
