The answer is Yes. What will determine the willingness to hire someone terminated from another company is the reason for that termination. Generally, companies will shy away from hiring someone terminated because of an ethical or criminal behavior at the other company.
However, success or failure is often determined by cultural fit between an employee and employer. Many companies recognize that someone who fit poorly at a prior employer may fit better in their company.
In fact, sometimes, what made someone unsuccessful before is what will make him or her successful with the new employer.
Definitely! In some job functions getting fired is just par for the course and no one will think anything about it. I’ve seen guys get fired for blowing up bad trades that cost their employer millions, get fired and a week later be at a new job. Why? Because the skill set is most important and rarely did these traders get make all the decisions that lead to these losses, and frankly they become the sacrificial lamb so their boss who made the decision can pin it on their underlining. The employee still has the contacts and knowledge from their working career, which is ultimately the most valuable to new employer.
