    The work of an accounting clerk is in the department of accounting where he has to complete many administrative and clerical duties. An accounting clerk has to manage all things along with the other accounting personnel of an organization.

    Accounting Clerk Job Description

    The job profile of an accounting clerk includes the work keeping financial records updated along with other financial transactions. The basic accounting office task, bookkeeping work and reporting and resolving the accounting problems is also the duty of an Accounting clerk. The person should be familiar with all the legal accounting procedures to avoid any type of financial risk.

    Roles and responsibilities

    • Managing the accounting and bookkeeping records of an organization.
    • Providing full support to the finance and accounts department.
    • Knowledge of maintaining all the legal procedures of accounting and finance transactions.
    • Responsible to prepare all types of bank deposits and statements along with general ledger.
    • The entry of all the transactions on day to day basis.
    • Keep tracking of all types of refunds allowed and repayment of refunds from the clients.
    • The person should be responsible to complete the accounting task within a given period.
    • Stay updated with any type of changes made in the legal rules and regulations related to tax and accounting.
    • Assist other personnel in maintaining all types of a financial accounting transactions.
    • Responsible to guide the new accounting staff members about the company’s work and policies.

     Accounting clerk key skills required

    • Ability to handle the workload of accounts.
    • Good communication skills to manage clients.
    • In-depth knowledge of accounting policies and legal procedures.
    • Able to work in a team with full support.
    • Skills to complete the work within a given time.
    • Candidate should be comfortable working at MS Office and other accounting software.

    Education, training, and Certifications

    • Degree or diploma in finance, accounting or other relevant fields with a recognized university.
    • Experience certificate of working in the accounting field.
    • Certified basic computer course.
