Hello My Friends, It is a great movement for everyone as we approach our Independence Day on August 15th. This annual observance has great significance and this special day is celebrated for commemorating our brave leaders and fighters of history who won us the freedom we are enjoying today. On this great occasion, many offices, organizations, and schools usually come up with a lot of interesting Independence Day celebrations and activities to help everyone to learn more about the significance of the day.

Generally, we usually see the activities are Independence Day art and craft activities, drawing and painting competitions on special day themes like dress code, group reading history storybooks, and a lot more. Are you running out of ideas as the special day is near?

Here let us have a look at some of the interesting Independence Day celebrations and activities for office that instill the freedom spirit in everyone.

    1. Flag Hoisting: Hoisting the tricolor is the first and foremost activity that is done in any organization which kicks off the rest of the celebrations.

    2. Workstation / Floor Decoration: Imagine if all workstations and floors have been decorated with tricolor balloons and ribbons. Everyone feels so excited and gives a strong patriotic feeling on the day.

    3. Rangoli Competition: This is a national colorful festival and rangoli gives more beauty and fills the beautiful colors everywhere. You can organize a Rangoli competition among employees of floor-wise, best can be awarded.

    4. Patriotic Dress Code: This is a really interesting activity that can be totally exciting for everyone. Set an office Dress code for the day mainly in tricolor.  It will give a great feel because everyone loves to dress in a perfect manner. This can be for males “Dhoti-Kurta” and for females “ Traditional Suits”

    5. Organize Independence Day Quiz: People will be really interested to take part in quiz competitions and Independence Day special quiz can be even more interesting. The questions can be true based on history, freedom fighters, special events, and happenings in the struggle towards freedom, important dates to remember, and a lot more.

    6. T-shirt painting: It is quite common to see employees come up in costumes based on the tricolor for Independence Day celebrations.

    7. Show a Patriotic Movie: It would be a good idea to show a patriotic movie on the big screen using projectors in office halls or auditoriums. Choose movies that include significant incidents that paved the way to freedom and that show the spirit of fraternity in achieving their goals.

    8. Live Food Counter:  You can organize a live food counter in the office on this special day celebration, ask vendors for a unique food menu, decorate and give it a patriotic feel.

    9. Singing And Cultural Dance Activities: Unity in diversity is what makes India special. All 28 states of the country are homes to a variety of cultures, many of which we are not even aware of. Independence Day is the best occasion to familiarize yourself with the different cultures across India and you can do it by organizing a cultural dance program.

    10. Independence Day Games Activities: There are a lot of games that can be organized as part of the special day. You may arrange a musical chair game where the songs played can be Vande Mataram or such songs of relevance for the day. Or you may go for crossword puzzle games where words can be related to freedom fight events, special patriotism symbols or words that invoke national pride.
