• Create a professional profile:

• Create your resume:

While applying for jobs, you will need a resume, of course. You can create a professional resume in several ways. In the very beginning when you don’t want to be too overwhelmed, you can just use google docs or LinkedIn itself for a simple yet decent resume, which will hardly take you 10 mins. If you’re experienced enough and want a sophisticated resume, a personalized one, you can go for Canva. There you’ll find lots of templates, elements, fonts, etc for free. 

• Spread out your network:

Making connections with people in the field helps you to know their experiences challenges, do’s, and don’ts. People generally post on LinkedIn about their previous internships, years of hardships, and their consistent efforts despite consequent failures. Besides, your feed will also show the posts they’ve liked. In many cases, people post about them hiring someone, and if one of your connections has liked the post, you’ll be able to see it as well.

• Make a portfolio (if required):

A portfolio is where you show your sample works like writing samples in the case of a writer, logo and design samples for a graphic designer, illustrations for an illustrator, and so on. If it’s required in your field to showcase your abilities, then make a decent portfolio. Many sites allow you to design a portfolio for free like Wix.

• Apply for jobs (consistently):

It will hardly take you a WEEK if you consistently apply to the jobs, however, if you break the flow it might take you MONTHS for the same. It’s understandable to get demotivated as you face rejections, but continuously getting rejected is still better than not even giving a chance to yourself. Thus, believe in yourself, be consistent, and apply to as many jobs of your interest as you can. You can also use hashtags for finding jobs.

Applying for so many jobs means you can get an interview mail any day. It can be on a voice call, web conference, or walk-in, regardless of that, you need to be prepared for any of them. You can expect questions about your work experience, your relationship with your ex-employees, the reason for leaving the job, your last CTC, your skills, things you know about your field, your weaknesses, your strengths, etc.

• Utilize hashtags:

If you’re good at content creation or even if you’re not, but you find it interesting then this is for you. You can make posts on LinkedIn in written or other formats.
