Now, there is hard life in the US. The distance between the house is directly proportional to distance between human relationships.
In an ideal life, you have friends so that they can or you can help them when in need, here in US everyone has money (most of us) so anyone hardly seeks help or assistance from family or friends (very less sharing n caring). In other words money (which is not a real thing) is a real friend of people in US.
Since everyone is tracked (SSN, Driving license, etc.), so if you make one mistake in life or against the government, you are doomed for life (prisoners can hardly get a good job ever again). Nobody works for improving his life by giving a chance. Life for those people becomes very depressing.
Social and cultural net is very important to uplift a depressed person. Staying alone you hear your own echo of negative thoughts. If parents stay in the house they can help to come out of depression, because they have seen life and know feeling low is part of life. Talking to people at home or to parents takes the mind off the negative thoughts. Unlike many other countries, there is still a culture of joint families and you have relatives who keep visiting you… here in US kids and parents separate when kid turns 18 in name of independence. Leaving both parents and separated kids susceptible to fall into loneliness and depression.
There is much importance given to materialism but not to spiritualism, so when people start losing senses when they/we grow old, all the glitter of American life goes away… leaving with an emptiness in life. Wise have told us that No thoughts is the real state of the human soul…but people in America are not used to nothingness, emptiness, and calming of the mind… this emptiness at old age leads to Depression.
If you are making the brave decision to start a fresh life in the United States, you must first decide the state and city you want to live in. The selection will be difficult since the United States is so diverse in every way.
America remains one of the best greatest countries in the world to move to, with roughly one-fifth of all worldwide migrants traveling there each year, but it is also one of the most difficult to enter. Only 12% of Americans were born outside the country.
The Living Cost
The living costs are an essential consideration when relocating to the United States. These, too, differ according to location and state.
The American Cost of Living Index measures how far a region’s cost of living detracts from the national average. The number 100 represents this. An area is considered costly or very costly if its Cost of Living Index is greater than 100. Life is deemed reasonably priced in states with a Cost of Living Index of less than 95.
The estimated annual living expense in the United States is between $100,000 and $180,000, with a monthly average of $1000 to $1500. This includes your lodging, room & board, food, travel, books, weather-appropriate clothes, and amusement fees.
I would like to write from some of my experiences. life in U.S. Can be expensive. In trying to keep up with the Joneses people tend to ignore if the Joneses are keeping up with them. By that I mean they might not have much in savings but will have a very nice car or expensive clothing or furniture. A large of swat of people besides our 401k (retirement) won’t have much in savings. Life can be more of a show here and unnecessary expenses. But people dream and dream big. They want to have a slice of the American Dream pie but sooner they realize they were not cut for it and end up back to square one. It can also be lonely at times as it’s hard to make like minded friends everyone has their own set of problems and having relax time with friends is hard in lower income groups. Life in U.S. Is not Hollywood as lot of people from third world countries believe it is.
